I have been knitting and sewing since I was 10 years old. Those skills have more than paid off over the years. As an aspiring actress in New York in the late 70’s I sewed costumes and knitted baby sweaters to supplement my income.
For several years I sold my baby sweaters to baby boutiques in New York, Philadelphia and Chicago. (Dustin Hoffman bought one of my baby sweaters in New York!)
After returning to my hometown of Cincinnati in 1985, I started my business, “Handknits By Marcie”, to sell my designs at Art and Craft Shows. In 2010 I launched my web site and changed the name to “marcieb.com”. Despite two carpal tunnel surgeries, two trigger finger surgeries and arthritis of the thumb, designing, knitting and teaching are my passions and I will continue to do all as long as my body will allow!
